Joseph Trefler brings a wealth of expertise as a music preparation specialist.
As part of the team at Emily Grishman Music Preparation (now Grace Notes Music Services)—Broadway’s premier music preparation company—he has contributed to an impressive roster of productions. His work includes the recent Broadway revivals of Camelot, Sweeney Todd, and Cabaret, as well as the acclaimed productions of Here We Are, The Outsiders, and Suffs.
In collaboration with NYC Music Services, Joseph developed the Scoring Express Theatre & Studio and Scoring Express Choral & Vocal templates, setting new standards for efficiency and precision in music notation. He has engraved works by leading contemporary composers, including Jessie Montgomery, Quinn Mason, and Valerie Coleman, alongside creating new editions of classics by Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein.
Recently, Joseph edited the new songbook for Hazbin Hotel Season 1, featuring music and lyrics by Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg. The songbook is now available for purchase.
